A third of UK workers unhappy with their internet service

62% of them felt that their efficiency is hampered by issues related to connectivity.

By CBR Staff Writer

About 37% home workers in the UK are dissatisfied with their Internet, a new report by thinkbroadband.com has revealed.

The survey of 896 web users, by independent broadband news and information site thinkbroadband, found 62% of individuals working from home felt that their efficiency had been hampered by connectivity issues.

Thinkbroadband.com co-founder Sebastien Lahtinen said most people are used to working from a single office and take connectivity for granted.

"But even very small geographical variances can influence your Internet service," he told the Telegraph.

"Before giving home-working the green light, businesses must ensure that employees are not going to suffer from severe inefficiency by not being properly equipped with the appropriate broadband service.

"Arranging business-grade broadband with faster response times can make a significant difference."

The report comes not too long after research conducted by Ofcom found that Orange/EE received the highest number of complaints for broadband during the third quarter of 2013, with 0.45 complaints for every 1,000 customers, followed by BT with 0.41 complaints and TalkTalk with 0.27 complaints.
