Olympus America Inc has announced its new D-340 digital camera with a resolution of up to 1280 by 960 and includes new features such as Tele/Wide and Sequence shooting modes. The camera can be used with or without a computer and features video out option for viewing of photos on television set. The Tele/Wide feature lets users select standard and wide photos and take pictures using the telephoto option. The Macro mode lets users take pictures at a four inch distance and Sequence shooting lets users capture up to 10 images in half second intervals. The cameras uses a 3.3 volt SmartMedia removable memory card, also known as the SSFDC. A 4Mb cards is include, with the option of adding additional 2Mb, 4Mb or 8Mb cards.
