Ing C Olivetti & Co SpA duly reorganised into three different divisions from the ones it reorganised into a few months back: the new divisions are products – selling personal computers direct, systems, serving vertical markets, and professional services; and Olivetti chairman Carlo De Benedetti said the company would make a signficant loss this year, adding that inside the overall loss there were areas where Olivetti is making a good profit and it was on these that it needed to concentrate; he says that next year will also be very difficult but that the changes will bring Olivetti rewards in 1994; talk in the market that Olivetti was looking for a buyer to take a stake in it to help bolster its research and technological base was a fantasy, de Benedetti said, noting that it already had a partner in Digital Equipment Corp.
