Olivetti’s Customer Support Group and Barclays Bank have agreed yet another third party maintenance contract worth over UKP3m per year. It takes the annual value of Barclay’s account with Olivetti to around UKP17m. To date, the contracts cover maintenance of Barclays’ IBM PS/2s and NCR workstations, and the company will eventually support 5,000 machines across the UK. The bank’s automated teller machines are also supported and Olivetti now has responsibility for 2,200 cash dispensers. The Customer Support Group says that new services will include the installation of more workstations, transportation of the teller machines, the provision of a hit squad to address network faults, and the shifting of old equipment to the brokerage market.
