OLICOM TO ADD SOFTWARE UPGRADES TO ITS FAMILY OF INTELLIGENT TOKEN RING HUBS

By CBR Staff Writer

Copenhagen, Denmark-based Olicom A/S says it is enhancing its family of intelligent Token Ring hubs with a software upgrade that adds RMON support, as well as the ability to connect Media Access Units directly to an intelligent hub so that Media Access Units can be managed as intelligent network devices. The software upgrade also enables the connection of up to eight standard Token Ring Media Access Units to a Control Access Unit, or up to four Media Access Units to a Control Access Module, adds the firm. The upgrade is shipping with its new hubs and will be provided free of charge to existing Olicom users.
