OLAPObjects for TM1 5.0 seems to be a mash-up of several technologies including Microsoft Excel, Applix TM1 memory-resident OLAP server and Business Objects’ Crystal Xcelsius Workgroup data visualization tools.

OLAPObjects integrates Applix TM1 OLAP databases with Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services technologies to allow non-technical users to build web-based financial applications for budgeting, reporting and scorecarding using Excel as a development platform.

Applix’s TM1 server has always been strong in finance and taps Excel as its front-end.

OLAPObjects 5.0 also taps Applix’s TM1 Web 9.0 for richer application development capabilities.

Creeth, Richman & Associates is headquartered in Wilton, Connecticut and is part of a joint venture called Brittenford Group. The company said it has sold over 2,800 licenses of OLAPObjects for TM1 since 2000.
