By CBR Staff Writer

Oki Electric has been awarded a contract by Nippon Telegraph & Telephone for development of a 32-bit Lisp processor: the spec calls for the processor to be implemented on 20,000 gate-per-chip arrays in 2 micron design rules; the phone company, which designed the part, is expected to use the processor in an artificial intelligence workstation called Elis, which is due to be announced next year.
