Oculus has announced that its hand-held VR controller ‘Touch’ will not be shipped with the first Oculus Rift units; instead it will be shipped in the second half of 2016.
The VR maker said that it is making significant advances in ergonomics, and is trying to implement changes that will make ‘Touch’ even more comfortable, reliable, and natural.
Touch is designed to allow VR gear users to touch things in the virtual world.
It consists of a pair of wireless controllers, one for each hand, which is similar to the Nintendo Wii Remote.
Each controller consists of an analogue stick and two buttons, a trigger that will come under the index finger, and another one that will be present under the middle finger to tell whether fingers are actually touching them.
Oculus said: "There will be a huge amount of ground-breaking new content launching alongside Touch. We shared a handful of early previews at Oculus Connect 2 in September, but we can’t wait to show you what’s coming next."
Oculus plans to ship Rift with an Xbox One controller during the launch to make virtual reality experience more immersive.
