Australian application development outfit Ochre Development Inc, which brought its Ochre Platform to the US back in October, is up for sale following the appointment of an administrator to run its affairs in Australia after funds ran out a couple of months ago. Ochre claims less than $10m would buy the assets of the company and its development team, now pared to four employees, down from 60 at its peak. Fujitsu Ltd and Texas Instruments Inc have been mentioned as possible buyers, although Ochre claims to have the attention of four or five interested suitors. Ochre’s application development system, which was launched in Australia in April 1993, is installed at a couple of dozen sites. Based in Sydney, the company has 30 days to find a buyer before the axe descends upon it. Ochre says concern over the viability of an offshore development unit has hampered its efforts to sell itself.
