The Object Management Group has issued a Request for Proposals for a common set of business objects it hopes will integrate business processes for all vertical markets down to the application level. Integrated Objects Inc chairman Martin Anderson, European chairman of the Business Object Management Special Interest Group, said the request will be completed by January 1996, with initial responses following in the second quarter. The idea is to have a set of small business objects providing basic functions combined with component-based applications for specific markets. The special interest group is headed by Cory Casanave, founder of Data Access Corp, and members include IBM Corp, Oracle Corp and Digital Equipment Corp. User groups include Boeing Co, Mercedes-Benz AG and Eastern Electricity Plc.
