Object Consulting, a provider of enterprise business offerings and systems integration provider, has formed a strategic business relationship with Ingres, an open source database management company, to provide a combined offering to Australian organisations seeking enterprise-class database management with the cost savings of open source platforms.
Julian Edwards, COO of Object Consulting, said: The relationship builds out our open source capabilities and strengthens our relationship portfolio with innovators across all layers of the open source technology stack.
As part of the partnership, Ingres will contribute its database management and enterprise content management offering sets, in conjunction with Alfresco. Object Consulting will offer to the strategic alliance advanced expertise in delivering enterprise implementations on-time and within budget.
The companies said that the alliance will initially focus on the Ingres Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Bundle, which utilises the Alfresco open source platform and targets Alfresco’s document management capabilities. The offering comes packaged with Ingres Database that helps organisations develop and manage business critical applications, and will be implemented by Object Consulting.
Jason Leonidas, managing director of Ingres ANZ, said: We are delighted to work with Object Consulting to deliver companies the security and proven performance of one of the world’s most used database tools, with the dramatically reduced TCO associated with open source. Object Consulting has a tremendous track record for delivering quality solutions to large corporations and government departments. I believe that together we provide a compelling option for Australian businesses.
