Following its agreement with France Telecom (CI No 1,047), Nynex Corp has won some serious business from Telefonica de Espana SA: it will collaborate with the Spanish phone company on the development of telecommunications services, and the agreement also calls for joint technical and marketing studies, joint services for clients with similar nees, and exchange of personnel; as well as giving Nynex an entre’e into the Spanish market – and Telefonica perhaps into Spanish-speaking areas of New York and New England, Nynex Corp may well be able to ride Telefonica’s connections into Central and South America.
