Nynex Corp duly announced the creation of Nynex Network Systems Co in Brussels, Belgium as a subsidiary of its Worldwide Information and Cellular Services Group, to focus on opportunities to provide communications networks outside the US, and duly named Charles Many as president of the new company (CI No 1,515): the mission of the new company is to pursue privatisation contracts now available in many European and Pacific Rim countries and to seek opportunities for cable franchises, private network construction, and cellular and other wirefree licences around the world; it is already involved in international network projects in Gibraltar, the UK and the Philippines.
