Gaming company Nvidia has previewed its cloud based gaming service dubbed GRID, which will be a subscription based service to allow gamers to play top title games in high resolution.
It can stream games from cloud based libraries to connected devices similar to the streaming of video and music to TVs, PCs and tablets.
The GRID gaming service will render 3D games in cloud servers, which will in turn encode each frame instantly and streams the rendered frames to any device with a wired or wireless broadband connection.
With the new streaming service, the company aims to tackle the problems related to game downloads which at times takes several hours to complete.
According to Nvidia, GRID is a gaming supercomputer, which will be capable of streaming games at ‘half the time it takes to blink’.
The company will launch two services which includes the free GRID service with 720p resolution at 30 frames per second, and GRID Plus offering games at 1080p and 60 frames per second.
Nvidia has not disclosed the subscription fees for the GRID Plus service but it confirmed that both the services will be launched in May.

The company claims to have installed its servers worldwide and, when combined with fast broadband service, users will be able to enjoy the game on a supercomputer like standards.
Nvidia said: "The result is more than the sum of its parts. Gamers won’t have to deal with downloads, patches, reboots and other computer maintenance.
"And developers can take advantage of the latest GPU hardware to deliver amazing gaming experiences."
Initially GRID will include 50 popular PC games and the company plans to add new titles every week and for additional games users will also be able to get AAA games from GRID store.
Nvidia has also added a digital download key to GRID store purchases for users to download the game to a PC.
