NUMERICAL ALGORITHMS SIGNS SYSTEMS DESIGN AS SOLE DISTRIBUTOR

By CBR Staff Writer

Britain’s Oxford-based Numerical Algorithms Group has signed Japanese software company Systems Design Corp of Osaka as its sole distributor, in order to sell its supercomputer software, which will be offered to run on Fujitsu Ltd and NEC Corp supercomputers: System Design also plans to go after Japanese universities, research institutes and large companies; the Numerical Algorithms Group or NAG is already supplying software to 25 organisations in Japan but because it had no local representative, its marketing was inefficient, say commentators; Systems Design has set itself the target of selling 5,000 licences to the Fortran software libraries a year.
