Deskstation Technology Inc and Accelerated Technology Inc of Lenexa, Kansas have announced immediate availability of an implementation of the Nucleus RTX Real-Time Operating System Kernel for the AT29K motherboard: Nucleus RTX provides users with a set of multitasking facilities, a preemptive, time-slicing scheduler, as well as comprehensive queue, resource, event, fixed memory, variable memory, and development support services; on the AT29K, engineers can write application-specific tasks, include some task initialisation information, and compile and link code with Nucleus RTX; the resulting object files can be downloaded to the AT29K and executed; Nucleus RTX is delivered with C and assembler source code; the AT29K motherboard is designed for embedded system applications and the Advanced Micro Devices Inc Am29000 RISC is said to boost performance of personal computer-based designs to 14 MIPS average, 25 MIPS burst; the AT29K motherboard has eight 16-bit AT slots, keyboard, speaker and real-time clock, and the use of video DRAM for main memory enables single-cycle instruction fetches simultaneously with data references.
