Nippon Telegraph & Telephhone Corp will start marketing 8Kbps speech coder-decoder interface boards from June for use with its TDM-M3300 time-division multiplex system: the boards will double the number of multiplexed voice channels supported on the Super Digital Circuit, NTT’s high-speed digital leased line; the Codec uses adaptive predictive coding with adaptive bit-allocation to select the most important elements of speech signal; the TDM M3300 takes up to six of the cards.
