Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp is now deep in the mire of the Recruit Cosmos Co cheap shares – for – the – promise – of – favours scandal, and public prosecutors searched NTT’s headquarters and four other places on St Valentine’s Day looking for evidence of links between NTT and Recruit: they seized documents relating to the phone company’s policy on international computer procurement – one of the officials arrested might have used his influence in connection with Recruit’s purchase and resale of two Cray Research Inc scientific supercomputers from NTT.
