DoCoMo said it would be willing to pay $30.44 million to acquire an additional 6.37 % stake, amounting to a 25.37% investment in the company as a whole.

This new investment is seen as trying to secure some stability in the company’s overseas, which have raised doubts for investors.

NTT DoCoMo is strengthening its relationship with Hutchison Whampoa and Hutchison Telephone in order to realise the early deployment of mobile multimedia services in Hong Kong, DoCoMo said in a press statement.

DoCoMo may well be taking a more aggressive approach to its acquisitions, wanting to stamp its authority on the purchased firm.
