Carlsbad, California-based NTN Communications Inc has agreement in principle with MVS Television SA of Mexico to form a joint venture. MVSTV operates the worlds largest wireless cable – cellular television – system, in Mexico City. The new venture will be equally owned by the parties and will use NTN’s interactive technologies, particularly in the field of education. In addition, NTN and MVSTV will begin a corporate training test immediately with Bancomer, the largest private television network in Mexico. At the request of the Mexican Government in September, NTN participated in a nationwide telecast during which it conducted a successful interactive educational demonstration on live television. Meanwhile, through a contract with the Mexican government, MVSTV has installed 13,000 General Instrument Corp digital satellite dishes in secondary schools to receive educational programming.
