With Microsoft Corp abandoning its domain security model with Windows NT 5.0 in favor of a Kerberos-based Unix model using X.500 directory services (CI No 3,111), observers say moving from one to the other will be a migration, not an upgrade. The domain model was non-scalable, poorly designed and unable to operate over the internet.
