Network Software Associates Inc, based in Laguna Hills, California has made several enhancements to the 3270/Elite and 3270/ElitePlus emulators for SNA 3270 personal computer-to-mainframe communications: 3270/ElitePlus incorporates an Operator Information Area compatible with Attachmate Corp’s Extra! 3270 emulator, and both 3270/Elite and 3270/ElitePlus support concurrent High-Level Language Application programming Interface operation; the Attachmate-compatible 3270 Status Line facilitates migration from Attachmate’s Extra! 3270 emulators to Network Software Associates’ 3270/ElitePlus emulator, and HLLAPI support means that application programs written in IBM’s High-Level Language Application Programming Interface can run concurrently on the personal computer together with the 3270/Elite or 3270/ElitePlus emulator; the 3270/Elite family now provides support for MS-DOS clients running IBM’s MS-DOS Office Direct Connect, which allows micros to communicate directly with the host-based OfficeVision/MVS and OfficeVision/VM.
