NOW SYSTEMS CENTER SIGNS TO TIE NET/MASTER TO DEC’S DECMCC

Having been signed to do a version of its newly-acquired Net/Master IBM mainframe network management system for the machines built by Tandem Computers Inc (CI No 1,454) Systems Center Inc has signed an agreement with DEC to develop products that will enable DECmcc users to monitor and control IBM SNA network environments that have Net/Master installed: the aim is to enable DECmcc and Net/Master to interoperate as peers. The two also agreed to make similar links between DECmcc and IBM’s own rival NetView network manager. Tandem kit is expected to be embraced too in the future.
