Highly acquisitive Morino Associates Inc, Vienna, Virginia has proposed acquisition to BGS Systems Inc of Waltham, Massachusetts, offering $9 a share cash, $27m all told, for the company. BGS develops, markets and supports software used to analyse and predict performance of medium-to-large IBM systems and communications networks. BGS did $63,000 on $13m for the 12 months to October 31, 1987. The board of BGS is considering the offer, and Morino looks for the BGS products to strengthen its business by integrating complementary product lines, and would give BGS holders a good preium on their shares.
