In its fourth acquisition in as many months in 1995, Birmingham-based Kalamazoo Computer Group Plc has acquired Nuneaton, Warwickshire-based Wembrook Computer Services Ltd, through its Kalamazoo Computer Solutions subsidiary. Wembrook designs, develops and implements systems for the manufacturing processing and service industries. It specialises in the iron, steel, paper, plastics and board markets, with turnover of ú500,000. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Wembrook’s Unix-based Stockholder accounting software integrates with Tetra Ltd’s Chameleon accounts package, for which Kalamazoo Computer Solutions describes itself as the UK’s biggest business partner. All Wembrook’s staff will be retained by Kalamazoo, with managing director Alex Quinlan becoming commercial manager within the Computer Solutions subsidiary. The acquisition brings Kalamazoo’s spending this calendar year to more than ú7.5m, though there should be more to come, because it set aside ú20m for acquisitions for last fiscal, which ended last month.
