NOW HP MOVES INTO COLOR PHOTOCOPIERS

By CBR Staff Writer

Not content with leading the printer, fax, scanner and multi- functional devices product markets, Hewlett-Packard Co has decided to give the $23bn photocopier market a bash. The Palo Alto, California company has introduced a digital copier – the HP Color Copier – aimed at the high-end home office to small and medium-sized businesses, and using its existing ink jet technology. Most digital color copiers on the market today end up in printing shops and have a starting price of some $1,500, the new HP standalone models have a starting price of $700 rising to $1,300.
