Hewlett-Packard Co has joined the rush to do a deal with Dialogic Corp, Parsippany, New Jersey on its Signal Computing System Architecture-based speech processing components for use in Hewlett’s Intelligent Peripheral. The Signal Computing System Architecture embraces Spectron Microsystems Inc’s emerging SPOX operating system for signal processors, and Hewlett is aiming the Intelligent Peripheral at the telecommunications service providers worldwide for deploying services that require voice interaction, and for building these services within intelligent networks. Pricing will vary according to the number of speech processing ports and will start at approximately $90,000. General product availability and final pricing is expected by year-end.
