Microcomputer software pioneers Dan Bricklin and Robert Frankston, creators of the legendary VisiCalc spreadsheet that ruled the 8-bit world, still haven’t made their fortunes, but have high hopes for a new spreadsheet called At Hand, designed specifically for pen-driven computers. The Wall Street Journal says the work was done at their new home, Slate Corp, Scottsdale, Arizona: At Hand is written for and is awaiting launch of, the operating system Go Corp of Foster City, California is doing for pen computers. Spreadsheets developed with Lotus Development Corp’s 1-2-3 can be downloaded into the pen computer so that people on the move can show the effect of changes of variables on a business plan to clients.
