NOVELL’S SCHMIDT SAYS JAVA WILL REPLACE C/C++

Novell Inc boss and Java maven Eric Schmidt thinks Java will have replaced C/C++ in about 90% of development shops within two to three years. Schmidt believes his company’s adoption of Java will make it more attractive to the development community, which up until now has had to make use of Novell’s NetWare Loadable Module NLM architecture, which Schmidt described as terribly difficult to program in.
