According to Novell, NetWare for VMS v.2.01 will provide support for DEC’s VMS v.5.0, allowing personal computer users to log onto VAXes and run standard VMS applications, using NetWare for VMS Terminal Emulation Services. Features added to NetWare for VMS v.2.01 include support for Novell’s SPX networking protocol, and NetWare Core Protocol support for Logical Record Locking and Semaphores. Server-based pricing ranges from $5,500 to 26,500. Novell is also working on a release of NetWare for VMS that will provide support for Macs.
