As well as combining DR DOS and NetWare Lite into a new Bisquick offering (CI No 2,056), Novell Inc is adding substantially to the features of DR DOS to make it a more complete alternative to Microsoft Corp’s Windows for Workgroups, Computer Reseller News reports. The DR DOS 7.0 project, code-named Panther, includes adding a Windows-like graphical user interface called ViewMax; it will also have a new memory manager called MemoryMax and a TaskMax task manager; it is with 250 to 300 beta testers and it should start appearing in first half 1993. Other additions will include and editor, a security log-in and also an undelete capability.
