Novell said that its configuration management interface software myCMDB 4.6, and database product CMDB360 4.6, have been certified by SAP, to integrate the SAP IT Service Management (SAP ITSM) application.
Reportedly, myCMDB and CMDB360 offers organisations complete insight into the relationships and interdependencies between business services, workloads and the IT environment.
Novell said that, myCMDB and CMDB360 enables customers to reduce the risks of service outages, enrich their implementation of information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) processes, and manage configurations across physical and virtual environments. It also enhances SAP ITSM by providing modeling and configuration management capabilities to support ongoing business services and ITIL processes, including service desk, incident, problem and change management.
According to Novell, the management interface software is a visualisation application that works with CMDB360 and other CMDBs to extract IT configuration and workload information in near real-time, model changes to the IT infrastructure, and generate reports that graphically show how proposed IT changes impact business services.
