John Slitz, Novell Inc’s senior vice president of marketing, is to resign at the end of the month, to pursue other opportunities. Slitz joined Novell back in July 1997, during which time Novell has seen something of a revival under the leadership of Eric Schmidt. He came to Novell from IBM Corp, where he was VP of object technology marketing. Before that, Slitz was vice president of marketing at the Object Management Group, Inc, where he worked with OMG founder Chris Stone. Stone followed Slitz to Novell a few months later, where he became senior vice president of strategy and corporate development.
