NOVELL INTRODUCES GROUPWISE SUPPORT FOR ODMA

By CBR Staff Writer

Novell Inc has announced an initiative that will make GroupWise, according to the company, the first product to support the recently announced (CI No 3,141) intranet extentions to the Open Document Management API (ODMA). GroupWise will comply with the ODMA standard through integration with the Jefferson Project, a server-based technology that will enable GroupWise users to publish and update information on the internet and intranets through desktop applications. Any changes made to the content or accessibility rights of a document are automatically reflected in that document on the web. The Jefferson Project will go into open beta this summer and be available for download at: https://support.novell.com/home/pubbeta/. Pricing has not yet been determined.
