The runaway success of Lotus Development Corp’s Notes is causing competitors to cast around for the elements they need to out together a convincing alternative, and Novell Inc has had to go to Collabra Software Inc, Mountain View, to find a conferencing module to add to its Novell GroupWare product line, in the shape of Collabra Share: Share will be integrated with GroupWise 4.1 – formerly Wordperfect Office – to add conferencing to the existing messaging, document management and electronic forms group collaboration tools; the two will develop a version of Collabra Share that will integrate and be used exclusively with GroupWise and will also develop an introductory version of Collabra Share for GroupWise that will be bundled with every version of GroupWise; it arrives next year.
