Novell Inc has introduced version 3.11 of its LANalyzer network analyser: the product includes full decodes for 12 additional protocol suites, and users can edit tests to create and reuse their own routines; version 3.11 includes 120 predefined testing routines for Ethernet or Token Ring networks, and these are applicable to any protocol environment supported by LANalyzer; LANalyzer 3.11 contains seven-layer decodes and facilities to support the entire range of the NetWare 3.11 environment; also, it offers decodes for Banyan Systems Inc Vines, SMB/NetBIOS and XNS; new capabilities include summary display, sorted station monitoring and SNMP management information base support; versions for Ethernet or Token Ring environments are $12,500, and a combined Ethernet and Token Ring version is $20,000.
