By CBR Staff Writer

Novell Inc of Provo, Utah has begun shipment of Advanced NetWare demonstrations to resellers of the IBM Personal System/2 computer family. Novell says it has already received close to 1,000 orders for the software, which demonstrates the networking capabilities of IBM’s new line of personal computers. Advanced NetWare 2.0a for the Personal System/2 supports the 80286-based Models 50 and 60 as file servers using IBM’s PC Network and IBM’s Token-Ring adaptor boards. Novell already provides NetWare support for the PS/2 Models 30, 50 and 60 as workstations. The demonstration version, which supports three users, is available free of charge to all IBM authorised resellers. The resale version of 2.0a for the PS/2 will sell for $2,195.
