NOVELL ELIMINATES 420 JOBS TO MAKE WORDPERFECT MORE SALEABLE

Novell Inc, which is hotly denying gossip that the whole company is for sale, plans to reduce its workforce by about 420 people in the business applications division and related support functions worldwide ahead of the of what used to be most of Wordperfect Corp, to make it more marketable. It expects to complete the sale by the end of its first fiscal quarter, to January 27.
