NOVELL DROPS INTRANETWARE LABEL FOR MOAB

Novell Inc was so keen to convince us that its NetWare operating system wouldn’t be made obsolete by internet and intranet technologies back in August 1996 that it renamed it Intranetware (CI No 2,982). Fourteen months on, Novell at least reckons it’s won that battle, and says the next release, codenamed Moab, will jettison the cumbersome Intranetware name in favor of the name Netware 5.0, when it comes out around mid-year, 1998.
