The new product supports both Microsoft Active Directory and Novell’s eDirectory natively and also introduces support for the endpoint security management technology Novell acquired with Senforce Technologies earlier this week.
Novell partnered with Senforce to launch its ZENWorks Endpoint Security Management offering in June and that software is included in the Enterprise Edition of Novell Configuration Management, alongside Asset Management Services, Linux Management, Handheld Management and the core configuration functionality.
The Enterprise Edition is priced at $225 and also gives users the ability to add Patch Management Services via a maintenance and upgrade protection agreement. An Advanced Edition is also available for $114 with UBS and Wireless Security as well as the core configuration functionality, with patch management as an optional extra.
The core configuration management software is also available as a standalone Standard Edition package for $70.
Codenamed Pulsar, the new version entered beta testing in late 2006 and was previewed at the CeBit event in March.
