Novell Inc, Provo, Utah has announced NetWare for SAA Services Manager 2.0, the next generation, Microsoft Corp Windows-based release of its NetWare Communications Services Manager. According to the company, the new name reflects the product’s role as an enterprise management application for NetWare for SAA – IBM Corp’s Systems Application Architecture – under NetWare Management System. NetWare for SAA Services Manager has been integrated with the mapping and alarm monitoring facilities of NetWare Management System. This is designed to enable network managers to monitor, maintain and control multiple NetWare for SAA-based IBM host connections from the same NetWare Management System console used to manage other NetWare services, says Novell. NetWare for SAA Services Manager 2.0 carries a suggested US list price of $3,500 and is available in North America and Europe now. The company says it is also offering a free upgrade for users that want to upgrade from NetWare Communications Services Manager 1.1.
