Novell begins beta testing next generation ZENworks

Novell Inc has begun beta testing the next release of its ZENworks systems management software. Codenamed Pulsar, the new version will provide Windows desktop management from a Windows or Linux server.

Pulsar represents the first delivery in Waltham, Massachusetts-based Novell’s Brimstone plan to revamp its ZENworks desktop, server and handheld management platform to meet the customer requirements for issue such as ITIL, COBIT, server consolidation, and desktop migration.

More details on the new version are not expected to be announced until Novell’s BrainShare user conference in March, but in the mean time the company is looking for beta testers to put the new architecture through its paces.
