Novell Inc has announced the availability of a Novell Directory Services update, claimed to give users improved performance and flexibility in their NetWare 4.1 network directory. Novell is delivering the Novell Directory Services update as a single set of NetWare Loadable Module files. It consists of a new DS.NLM (version 5.01) and a new DSREPAIR.NLM claimed to improve message transmission accuracy by preventing corruption, cutting tree repair time on large networks by as much as 70% and identifying and containing corrupted tree segments to protect the rest of the network. The update is designed to serve as an intermediate step to the functionality of the forthcoming Green River release of NetWare. It is available now, free to registered NetWare 4.X users.
