The deal sees Capgemini building out its open source consulting practice for the delivery of IT systems based on Novell’s SUSE Linux Enterprise operating system and including proprietary systems management and development tools.
The two companies will also work together to identify opportunities for Linux desktop deployments with the services firm also ramping up its SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop expertise.
The final piece of the partnership sees Capgemini encouraging customers to use Novell’s ZENworks Orchestrator for the management and optimization of virtualized workloads.
Capgemini will also support Novell’s open source offerings via its open source support service, while Novell will provide Level 3 engineering support to Capgemini.
