Northern Telecom Ltd says that it plans to support Novell Inc’s Telephony Services for NetWare on its Meridian 1 and Norstar PABXs and to work with Intel Corp to develop a software module to enable applications based on Microsoft Corp’s Telephony Application Programming Interface to interoperate with the Novell Telephony Services Architecture. Simultaneously, the Canadian company announced that its Meridian Link software is now compatible with IBM Corp’s CallPath Server, enabling the Meridian 1 system to be used with call centres based on the IBM product. To accompany this enhancement, Northern Telecom says that it is also cutting prices on the Meridian Link software by 40%.
