NORTHERN TELECOM SELLS ITS FIBRE OPTIC CABLE BUSINESS TO CORNING, SIECOR FOR $130m

Northern Telecom Ltd is still shedding bits of its STC Plc acquisition, and the latest to go is the fibre optic business, which is being sold to Corning Inc and Siemens AG’s Siecor subsidiary for $130m in cash; Corning will put up $87m of the price, Siecor the rest.
