NORTEL JAPAN WINS TITUS CABLE TELEPHONY DEAL

By CBR Staff Writer

Northern Telecom Japan Inc will supply telecommunications systems to Titus Communications Corp for a cable telephony service, following the signing of a five-year agreement. Titus will use the Canadian’s DMS-100 and DMS-10 digital switches and the Cornerstone Voice cable telephony system for a nationwide telephone service it is preparing to launch in Japan in June. The majority-owned BCE Inc affiliate has also been awarded nine cable television operating franchises that will enable viewers to choose from a number of categories including films, news and sport.
