NORSK DATA TAKES ON UNIX MACHINES TO GAIN FOOTHOLD IN SWEDISH GOVERNMENT

By CBR Staff Writer

Norwegian minimaker Norsk Data A/S has signed an OEM agreement with Data Industrier AB of Stockholm to enter the potentially lucrative Swedish Government market. Norsk Data will be offering the Motorola 68010-based DS90-10 and the 68020 DS90-20 to the Swedish government. For the first year at least, Norsk Data says that it has no plans to sell the products into any other market. The DS90 series runs Data Industrier’s own real-time Unix System V-compatible operating system, D-Nix. No value or period has been released for the contract.
