Contracts have now been signed between Norsk Data A/S and Thomson-CSF SA maintenance arm Thomainfor, for the creation of ND ServiceTeam (CI No 1,649): the new service company, which takes immediate control of all Norsk Data and Thomainfor service operations in the UK, will have around 200 staff and is forecasting annual turnover of some UKP20m – this follows Norsk Data’s recent acquisition of Farnborough-based Norman Magnetics, a disk drive repair company with an exclusive agreement with Seagate Technology in the UK; Norsk Data is the majority shareholder of ServiceTeam; as part of the same pact, Thomainfor will take on support and product distribution responsibilities for Norsk Data in France, Switzerland, Italy and Benelux.
