Nomai SA can continue to sell its Zip-compatible drives in the US, in the latest twist of its long legal battle against Iomega Corp. The US District Court for Northern California refused Iomega’s request for a preliminary injunction against Nomai, allowing the French company to continue selling its disks in competition with Iomega. The move follows the lifting of a temporary restraining order by the court back in February. Iomega has won a preliminary injunction in Germany, and won packaging concessions in Holland. It has other legal action pending in the UK and Australia. Iomega claims Nomai has violated its copyrights, disk design patents, and trademarks.
